1951-56 Oldsmobile and Cadillac air cleaner based on the style and dimensions of the original. Measuring a whopping 18-1/4" wide, our air cleaner is no wimpy, scaled-down version of this classic design. This air cleaner has the same external dimensions as the original Oldsmobile oil-bath part. However, our version uses an off-the-shelf 14" diameter x 4" tall paper filter element. It is stamped from heavy gauge steel, fully spot welded together and then powder coated in a tough semi-gloss finish. The electroplated air cleaner base is also stamped steel and is designed to fit 4 barrel carburetors with a 5-1/8" opening. The air cleaner is notched at the rear to provide clearance for the large diameter, GM, HEI distributors. Not content with anything normal, we designed and produced a unique wing nut to complement the air cleaner. This chrome plated, rocket shaped nut was modeled after 50s era space vehicles and measures nearly 1-1/8" tall.
